Deep Sea Classic Fishing Tournament

Fishing fanatics who come to Ambergris Caye for deep-sea and other forms of fishing get some of the greatest marine spots. In partnership with the San Pedro Island business community, Grand Caribe is proud to once again host the annual Deep Sea Classic fishing tournament. With more than $150,000 in cash and prizes — including Carey Chen signed and framed artwork for the top three boats — it’s sure to be a thrilling experience.

Thursday, July 11

Welcome!
It’s always exciting to see longtime friends and new faces. Once you’ve dropped off your bags and settled in, a quick briefing followed by cocktails will get you up to speed.

Friday, July 12

Day 1
Enjoy watching the sun rise as you get ready for the Bimini start of the 8th Annual Belize Deep Sea Classic. Fish, catch, and join the party by the Grand Caribe Pool when you return.

6 am Bimini start at the Grand Caribe dock
6 am – 6 pm Fishing hours
5:30–8:30 pm First Catch Poolside Party at the Grand Caribe pool

Saturday, July 13

Day 2.
Fishing starts bright and early. Tight lines! It’s a good day for a monster catch. When the day’s done, get ready to celebrate with fresh fish, beer, and live music on the beach.

6 am – 6 pm Fishing hours
6 pm Weigh station at the Grand Caribe dock
6–9 pm Fish & Fun Beachside Party at Grand Caribe beach

Sunday, July 14

Enjoy a day with family and friends as we award more than $150,000 in cash and prizes. The top three boats will also receive framed artwork signed by Carey Chen. Join us for a community afterparty at our sister resort.

11 am Prize giveaway in the West Room
1–4 pm Caribeville Afterparty at Sundowners in Sunset Caribe

Fishing Classics

Team Rumba from El Salvador came in first place after reeling in four blue marlins and earning 10,055 points. The team received a check for $135,000, a beautiful Carey Chen original piece of art, and the 2024 grand prize trophy.
